“Vega...” called a soft tender voice of a male from the distance. I turn around, letting my long dark chocolate brown hair swing lightly. My warm brown eyes scanned the area for the sign of the voice again. The area is just the woods near my home, but it was not the fun woods that I use to play. It was dark and spooky with the fog rolling in to create a scary setting. Believe me it was working and I did not like this at all. One I am scare of scary movie and two I don’t remember being a part of this to being with. I decide nothing was out of place beside the oblivious and about to walk again, until I heard the voice calling my name.
“Vega…” I jumped to see who was calling me.
“Who’s there?” I manage to get a whisper out of my mouth. I was not scared…I was horrified. Who in their right mind would just call my name for unknown reason? I looked around the area again, making sure that I don’t miss the voice again. I took one step away and the voice hollered at me, making me freeze in place.
“Vega! Don’t walk away!” The voice sound close to me, as I got up the courage to speak to the mysterious voice.
“Who are you?” My voice was still shaky but I have to find out who keeps calling for me. No answer from the voice, which was starting to get on my nerves. I took a step away and the voice spoke up loud.
“Don’t!” For some reason, I felt uncomfortable standing in this spot now. A shadow was starting to cover over my small figure, as my breathing was picking up. I could not bring myself to see who the shadow belongs too. My body was trimming in fear of something scary was just behind me. I got enough courage to move my foot forward to see if I can escape. A hand flew out and grabbed my shoulder to keep me in place. My heart stopped for a second and I nearly forgot how to breathe.
“Vega! Please don’t walk away!” The voice begged me. My instinct got the best of me, as it told me one thing and one thing only; run my butt away from whoever was speaking to me. I just sprinted out of that grip and never look back. I did not want to know who it was, all I know it could be Jason or Freddy wanting a new victim to kill. My ears picked up something in the distance and it was not too far from me. Footsteps, oh geez, that person is coming after me. I tripped over my own feet and land on the ground. I did not care about the pain of the impact, as I scrabbled back to my feet. The footsteps were getting closer to me, since I fell. I panic and started to run again for my life now.
“Leave me alone!” I screamed out loud to those mysterious footsteps behind me. I ran into the fog without knowing and found myself lost. I did not hear the footsteps anymore, making me feel better but not enough. Wolves were howling in the distance, making me jump in fear. Owls were hooting at me, wanting me to go and hide. The wind was staring to get cold, making me shiver.
“Vega!” the voice sounded so desperate to keep me. My hands flew up to my ears to cover them and I shut my eyes.
“Stop it! Leave me alone!” I cried out, trying not to have tears coming out of my eyes, but I failed. Tears were traveling down my face like two rivers. I tried to block the voice out of my head, but I could still hear that tender, soft voice.
“Vega…I will always remember you…don’t walk away…” I did not know what to do at this point. I fell to my knees, still covering my ears and keeping my eyes shut. I cried out in pain, because my head kept repeating the voice in my head. I sense the shadow covering me again, when I lift my head up. I slowly open my eyes in surprise to see who it was. I just scream on the top of my lungs, surprise and shock.
Barbara looked up from her notebook, thinking to what to write next. She was drawing a blank and she sighed.
"How am I going to be a writer when I get writer's block every five minutes," she mumbled to herself, shaking her head. She been working on this story for the past two hours and only came up with that. Barbara closed her pink notebook and looked around the park. Everything was peaceful with children playing and people enjoying themselves. Barbara smiled at the sight and picked up her phone to text one of her friends back home.
